The course
In 1887, the first magistrate of Port St Johns laid out a golf course between the Umzimvubu River and the Indian Ocean. One of the earliest courses in the country — and still one of the most remarkable.
Today it sits in a natural amphitheatre formed by forested dunes, only 150 metres from where the river meets the sea. The views are extraordinary. The margins are tight. And the Cape Parrot — one of the most endangered birds in the world — calls it home.
There is nowhere else in South African golf quite like it.
