Young Golfers in Africa
Teeing up the next generation.
Putting something back into the game
Young Golfers in Africa is a Port St Johns Golf Club initiative introducing young people from our local schools and surrounding community to golf for the very first time.
We are bringing kids onto the course who would never otherwise get the opportunity — giving them proper coaching, proper mentorship, and a real pathway into the club structure. From complete beginners to juniors showing genuine talent, this is about making sure the game has a future in our region.
This is a club programme. It is run by us, funded by our members, and the results are already showing on the course.
What we are doing
Coaching & Development
Junior players receive structured coaching from day one. We are not just getting youngsters on the course for a single round — we are building the foundations that keep them in the game and coming through the ranks.
Member-Funded
The programme runs on contributions from Port St Johns Golf Club members and supporters. Every rand raised goes directly into junior coaching, competition entries, and programme costs, ring-fenced for Young Golfers in Africa.
Club Pathway
The goal is a proper junior pipeline into the club structure. Young players who show commitment and talent will be supported to compete at club, regional, and Border Golf Union level.

How you can help
Make a donation
Any contribution, large or small, goes directly into the programme. We are transparent about how funds are used and report back to members.
Even R50 makes a difference, just click the button.
Spread the word
Tell fellow members, tell your family, tell anyone in the community with a youngster who might love this game. The wider our reach, the stronger our junior programme becomes.
